What I Wore : Week of 9th May, 2016

I joined my first London gym in 2013, and it was a swanky place near my work. I was by no means a morning person, but work friends gave me the motivation to attend 7am classes and then come into work. Packing everything the night before was always a bit of a nightmare; picking out my outfit, making sure I remembered everything. It usually was a smooth process, until one morning. The morning I had finished my post-workout shower at the gym, and found that I had no skirt to put over my tights. I forgot to pack bottoms, how awkward! I didn’t want to put my sweaty workout pants back on, but I didn’t want to go into work with my ass out. Plus, it was only 8:30am, no shops were open!

I ended up going into work, keeping my long coat on for a few hours, and as soon as the H&M down the road open, I bolted. I found a the long black skirt there, and probably didn’t pay very much for it. It was a bit longer, and not my usual style, but I was desperate. Over the course of the past few years, that skirt has become the staple of my wardrobe. I wear it with t-shirts, with blouses, to interviews, to parties, on holiday. It is a comfortable and diverse skirt and who knows what I would be wearing if I hadn’t forgotten my clothes that morning.
